From my music questionnaire I discovered that the majority of people interested in my music magazine are males from the ages of 15-19. Most people would perhaps be interested in the idea of a new music magazine on the market and most people would be willing to spend 0.99p-£1.-99 on the magazine. However quite a lot of people wouldn't also mind paying £2-2.99. Generally the majority of my participants listened to alternative rock/rock with the occasional pop listener. The artists they listened to were mainly Green Day, Florence and The Machine, All American Rejects and Blink-182 which is good as it conincides with the genre I'm planning on using. My participants mainly wrote that inside my magazine they'd like to see interviews on specific artists, posters, lots of images and gig guides/reviews. Because of this my audience has specified for the magazine to be full of infortmation and have lots of images involved. As well, therefore the most liked colours for the scheme as blue, black, red and white despite the fact that not many people buy many magazines.
To create my magazine I shall be doing primary research in which I will take my own photos for the bands and artists shown in particular issues and I shall also record my own intereviews to put inside my magazine. Furthermore I shall be using photoshop and other photo editing programs likewise to help build my magazine into one big thing.
My magazine shall represent different social groups as it'll be targeted towards the C2/D social class who are generally those who are currently in education or have just recently left education. This also includes the elderly and unemployed. However seeing as the specific target audience of my magazine are 14-18 it goes within the teenage age group who will most definitely be in education. Other hobbies and interests this particular social group would have is watching reality television shows, (daytime tv for the elderly), listening to music stations such as Kerrang and XFM (so my magazine will link into the genre) and perhaps even play some instruments.
The media institute that shall preferably publish my magazine would be Bauer Media because not only do they also publish other magazines that are like mine such as Kerrang and Mojo, they also give me a higher chance of getting published because they willingly publish other magazines like this and would probably be interested in a new music magazine on the market. Furthermore in the past they have published many famous magazines that are extremely well known and influential.
The intended target audience for my media product would most likely be both boys and girls aged 14-18 who live in the United Kingdom and America. I chose the UK because that is where most of the intended audience currently live however American bands/artists will be featured inside my magazine so the American culture may also be interested. Like previously mentioned other hobbies and interests this particular audience would have is listening to radio music stations i.e Kerrang/XFM and perhaps playing instruments and/or having friends that do.
I will attract my target audience by having appropriate bands and images throughout my media product that link to the genre of my magazine. Furthermore I will attract them by having a suitable house style which consists of relatively dark colours such as black, blue, purple, red etc. As well with every issue, I plan to include a puff which'll attract the audience as it'll entice them to buy more magazines in the future and within the magazine I plan to include such things as competitions and posters so the customers not only just getting information on their musical idols, they're also getting what seems like more for their money.
